„Plough“ bedeutet der Pflug. Ein Name der aus der Not heraus entstand. Wir brauchten einen Bandnamen für unsere erste Tournee durch Schottland. Janet Gray, eine Freundin und Kneipenbesitzerin aus Schottland, sagte: „nennt euch doch nach meinem Pub“ (the Plough Inn). Gesagt getan. So durchpflügen wir gemeinsam die musikalische Welt der Highlands und des hohen Nordens, immer auf der Suche nach dem etwas Anderem. Es erklingen, mal freche und schnelle, mal nachdenkliche und ruhige Tunes aus Schottland, Irland, Schweden und Amerika.
We needed a Bandname for our first tour in Scotland, and we both have difficulties coming up with good names. Janet Gray, a friend and pub-owner in Scotland suggested we name ourselves after her pub; “the Plough Inn”. Said and done, and the name even fits. Together we plough through the musical heritage of the Highlands, the far north, the old world and the new world, always on the look-out for something new and interesting. Sometimes lively and sometimes contemplative, we bring to sound tunes from Scotland, Irland, Sweden and the rest of the world.
